NGORA: Unknown persons have in the wee hours of Thursday morning destroyed Kapira Hill Rock Art located in the Eastern district of Ngora.
According to anonymous sources, oil-soaked clothes were used to cover the site with smoke.
The locals in the area have condemned the incident, coming at a time when one of the region’s Art sites is under nomination for the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage sites (Geometric Rock Art).
By the time of filing this story, the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities and the district leadership were on site to assess the extent of the damage.
