About us

Founded in 2019 by STREAMLINE CONSULTS LTD, MediaScape News is an ‘Impact Journalism’ news outlet in Uganda with a bias on exclusive interviews, history, intelligence briefs, military affairs, eSports, video and photo stories. It is regulated by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC).

MediaScape News sets out to champion a new reporting approach that is more interesting, trustworthy, and uplifting; to inspire people to get involved. We adopt an interviews-only story reporting model for content in order to cover what’s missing in today’s news and how people are responding to problems- from their own perspective.

At the center of this philosophy is a team of dedicated Ugandan multimedia journalists and academicians with a wealth of experience in action research, reporting, editing, strategic communication, media management, digital media marketing, public relations, ghost writing, sales and marketing and multimedia journalism, spanning a period of two decades.

Our Major Categories:

1. Q&A News:

Q&A News– a short form for ‘Question & Answer,’ is our major news category in which we carry stories only sourced through and presented in an interview format. This grants our stories, source participation, immediacy, exclusivity, authenticity, source-ownership and in-depth explanatory reporting. This is a first of its kind reporting that we believe breaks away from the usual clutter of news that comes with activity journalism and the breakneck news speed that has clogged Ugandan journalism.

3.   Intelligence Files

This category provides the reader with an in-depth look at the stories behind the stories. From an array of experts and former intelligence personnel, we provide cutting-edge news analysis of events happening openly in Uganda and beyond. Top Secrets provides intelligence briefing on issues the ordinary reader is not able to connect with and make sense of. Write to TopSecrets@mediascapenews.com

4.   Opinion

Our ‘Opinion’s category is a forum for debate and exchange of ideas on topical issues from our team of columnists and members of the public. This form of citizen journalism is an opportunity for our readers and members of the public to express their strong opinions on issues surrounding us. Write to opinions@mediascapenews.com

5. MilitaryTimes:

Our MilitaryTimes product quality, unbiased reporting on the important issues for the military and other security forces in Uganda around peace and security news, benefits, joining the forces, education and training, promotions and certifications, military honours, enterprises, games, transitioning to civilian life, military spouses and many more. If you are military personnel in service or retired, write to militarytimes@mediascapenews.com and share your experience with fellow combatants and non-combatants.

6. Special Projects

Our ‘Special Projects’ category contains such menus as Branded Content for individuals, companies and businesses that wish to express themselves about their offerings, services, reputation and visibility in an easy-to understand content. Our partnerships editor is always at hand to offer a content plan for individuals and entities who wish to have their positions felt or repositioned. Write to Projects@mediascapenews.com

6.   MediaScape TV

The MediaSpace TV category hosts photo and video stories about the events and happenings around us. We also feature people’s voices and opinions on matters that concern their daily lives through different sets of ‘vox pops.’ We believe stories make more meaning when they are told through video and photo documentaries. If you have a short video clip of any incident of public interest, write to TV@mediascapenews.com and we shall get back to you.
